Join us for the first-time attendees breakfast prior to the conference starting. This is a self-funded event - once we know who and how many want to attend, we'll lock in a venue and send a menu to attendees to pre-order.

Have you wanted to learn the art of ICM Photography? Join Simone Jackson as she takes you through the fundamentals of the photographic art of ICM, (Intentional Camera Movement) on this photowalk workshop. ICM Photography is a creative genre combining the art of intentionally moving the camera while mastering shutter speeds to get the desired effect. ICM can be utilized when capturing Landscapes, City scenes, Forests, Water, Plants, People, Animals. The sky is the limit to this artistic expression. Simone uses this method with many of her fine art photographic works. Simone will direct you through what works well, types of movement, camera settings, expressionistic images, combined with other elements like double exposures, to enable you to create your own photographic art. This will start with a presentation of the how to, examples of different looks, tips on how to edit your images, then a practical workshop where we will head to some locations to practice. Equipment needed - Please bring a camera (and lens/ lenses) that you can switch to manual mode, any filters that you have like a Polarizing filter, ND Filter or any filter that you would like to experiment with. Simone will also have some square glass filters that you can utilize if you do not have a filter to use.

Held in a SECRET location in 2024, this "Winter Wonderland" themed dinner is the highlight of the week, celebrating the achievements of NZIPP Honours recipients, and the winners of the Iris awards categories, and Professional Photographer of the Year titles.

Attendees need to meet at the South City Mall carpark opposite the Majestic on Durham by 4.45pm to get on the bus to the secret location.
Planning to drive? Meet us at the carpark for directions to the venue. This is a ticketed event and includes bus fare and meal.

Attendees can look forward to an immersive astrophotography workshop focusing on capturing the stunning night sky. We will begin our evening with a short briefing at the conference venue, followed by a field trip to Kaituna Quarry Reserve for a practical shooting experience. The Milky Way, being in prime position, will be our main subject. The following day we will return to the conference venue for a detailed editing session, where participants will learn to enhance their night time images using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Gear Recommendations: DSLR or Mirrorless Camera capable of manual mode Wide angle lens (24mm or wider, f/2.8 aperture recommended) Tripod Remote shutter release Extra batteries and memory cards

Meet at the NZ Photography Show registration desk at 6.55pm. Depart from the venue at 7:30 PM, start shooting at 8 PM, wrap up by 11:30 PM.
