The New Zealand Photography Show is an annual two-day show, proudly presented by the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography, and in partnership with Canon New Zealand.

The show brings you exciting speakers from both New Zealand and Overseas, and from a range of genres. The show is supported by a fantastic trade show from internationally renowned camera brands and photographic businesses.

This is a great chance to meet other like-minded photographers, make life-long friends, feel part of something special, learn new skills, be inspired, rekindle your passion and fire for photography, and go home inspired to take your business to the next level.

New Zealand’s premier Professional Photography Awards are open to ALL Professional Photographers from across the world, and to students studying Professional Photography at tertiary level.

The Iris Awards are judged live prior to the New Zealand Photography Show. It is FREE to come along and watch the live judging, at the Majestic on Durham, 189 Durham St South, Christchurch, from Tuesday 30th July 2024 to Thursday 1st August 2024. The judging on Thursday is followed by the Iris Awards Wrap Party. More information on entering and schedules for judging hours can be found on the irisawards.com website from early 2024.

Elevate Your Photography at NZ Photography Show 2024! Unleash your creativity at the only professional photography conference in New Zealand! This year, we’re unveiling an exciting new workshop format, giving you the power to tailor your experience. Dive into a world of knowledge on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd August 2024, with an array of workshops led by industry experts. Our diverse presenters will cover every facet of photography, offering a chance to learn, grow, and redefine your craft. Explore the latest trends and innovations in the Trade Exhibition, featuring renowned camera brands and photographic suppliers. Stay ahead of the curve and discover what’s new and noteworthy in the world of photography. The workshop schedule will be announced in mid 2024.

On Sunday 4th August 2024, masterclass workshops will be available for bookings to be held on location around Christchurch. Workshops run from 2 hours – 6 hours in length and vary in price. A schedule of available workshops will be available mid 2024.

*Please note, the cost to attend these workshops is NOT included in your conference ticket. However, only conference ticket-holders will be able to book these events.

The much anticipated Gala Dinner is a great way to celebrate the end of an amazing week, and enjoy the celebrations of the Iris Awards winners. Held in a secret location in 2024, this is going to be the one you don’t want to miss!
